Ezra...His name does mean helper right?

This child was a total surprise to our family.

HE has been nothing but a joy...
today he is off his game. nope not livin up to his name today.
To start the day he broke a glass in the sink.
Not a big deal to me, they were super cheap glasses...little did I know this was the pattern for the day.
We headed out to the store because I fried my blow dryer in Ethiopia.
Whatev.
Got in the car and saw I only had 9 miles til empty...normally I'd own it, yep I did it...however this was NOT the case.  Nope, not me this time...
headed straight to the gas station...asked which boy wants to pump.
yep thats how I do.
if there old enough to put gas in the mower and mow the lawn, there old enough to pamper their mama at the pump. ;)
Ez volunteered.
I said use the cheap stuff.
[you know i'm cheap.]
I look back and gasped as he just put almost 3 gallons of the most expensive!
[my heart was yelling! my mouth not so much yet...sadly]
I told him to stop it and take it out and I'd redo it for the cheap stuff.
Well he was having a hard time listening because he pulled it out while it was still going...
squirted gas all over him.
[this is where I started yelling!] I apologized later.
Well no store for us...headed home.
Told him to put the laundry in the dryer and get his clothes into the washer...
Um..yah, HE broke the dryer.
He put sopping wet clothes into a dryer that still hadn't been completely drained of water yet...
broke the drum.

I take my much needed shower, and i put my hair in that wonky curling trick updo, and pray that it drys before we have to leave tonight for his game...
kinda not banking on it since I have crazy thick hair...You'd think 5 hours would do the trick...nope, not for this mop!
i hope no one stops by unannounced or they will see she-Ra! Ha.

Oh and when I apologized to ez..he got this cute smile on his face and said I forgive you mom..and hugged me.
Yep. I love him!
So whats your day like?
XOXO!

Wednesday in awassa, Ethiopia

Hello family... Day two and our days are flying by! this morning we woke early... But had such a good night sleep!  We felt rested and ready to go.   We headed to Rachel and argaws house....we went to the bank...exchanged the feed [1] orphan Monies into burr...wow did we look like kings! Lol... Well really jesus looked like the king that he is...cause this is his money to do what he wants with it. Then we exchanged our money to pay for our room and food and such... We then headed home for lunch.. Oh wait I forgot to mention I had a double of that amazing coffee I spoke about on my last blog post...seriously so so good! I'm so hooked! During lunch we had a friend join us....it was so neat to see our friend...we had been waiting. Then somehow we lost track of time...and oh snap...we were suppose to be back at their house to go to the children's home at 4:00pm...we left our housing at 4:40! Oops our bad...guess we've adjusted to Ethiopian time already...cause per our friend Rachel everyone is late....i was just keepin it real. Jet lag doesn't seem to be an issue at all for us. Praise him!  Tomorrow we will be getting to work...I'm excited to be helping in anyway possible..I will update again as I can. Love, Gina

Saturday LOVE!

My bed never felt so good this morning.  I honestly didn't want to leave it.  We got to sleep in until 8:30 which has not happened in a really long time....not even during summer break!  We spent the morning at my nephews soccer game.  My brother said he slept with his shin guards on...so cute!

My oldest had an awesome football game(he's the green guy #2 tackling the blue guys!).  I was a nervous reck. worse than normal.  This team we played(in the blue), we had been scrimaging all season long on thursdays, so it was pretty important for us to kick there sweet keesters.  I felt like I was on pins and needles the entire game.

After football we went to the apple orchard.  I love fall. Have I told you its my favorite season?  Cause it totally is!  We all had a great time.  My husband was looking at the pigs...thought one wanted to be pet...well it thought his finger was food...and bit him!  there only 10 weeks old...I guess what do you expect!LOL....

we came home...and cleaned up our pumpkin vines...we picked our first pumpkin from our patch.  Isaac decided to help us out by mowing the lawn...aka he wanted to earn some money...since he just spent all his on his video game!  I love that the boys are realizing you need to work for money.  No complaints.

We finished day off with spending the evening together just watchin some TV and hanging out...
I loved this day!  Perfect if you ask me.  and the crisp air just was a double bonus!

Happy weekend!  Happy FALL!
XOXO!

It's that time of year again....

Sad but happy. I hate that summer is coming to an end. However I LOVE watching my oldest play football! Tonight was the practice at home...daddy is whipping them into shape. We thought our youngest son would want to play football too, so I said I would look into it for him. He was very excited to get to possibly play until he had one practice with his older brother and then he said, "um, mom... I'm more of the watching football kinda guy, not playing." LOL. I thought that was an awesome way to say never mind, i don't like pain!

Fall is in the air. another sad but happy. I absolutely adore fall here in Michigan. You will never see a fall like you will here. the colors. the crisp clean air. wearing sweaters in the morning. I thank God for Fall.

Thanks to everyone who is encouraging us in our new Journey. God is amazing. and we just want to serve Him.

XOXO!
